Both address smart-building needs. Compare the actual scope offered for your building.
Is 1VALET a completely closed system?
No. Its website lists third-party integrations, including locks and thermostats. However, having integrations does not automatically mean every component, licence or configuration can transfer to another provider. Ask for supported-device lists, ownership rights and an exit plan in writing.
Does a Rogers internet proposal mean we must choose 1VALET?
Rogers has publicly offered 1VALET as part of Rogers Smart Community. Whether a particular proposal requires that platform depends on its terms. Ask for connectivity and automation to be itemized separately, and review what changes at renewal or termination before committing.
Does UPHOME eliminate all vendor risk?

Can an existing 1VALET or SmartONE building move to UPHOME?

For any existing system, we first review devices, wiring, credentials, integrations and contracts. We do not assume every component can be reused or promise a zero-disruption swap before that review.
